Single Phase Flow in Partially Fissured Media
نویسنده
چکیده
Totally ssured media in which the individual cells are isolated by the ssure system are eeectively described by double porosity models with microstructure. Such models contain the geometry of the individual cells in the medium and the ux across their interface with the ssure system which surrounds them. We extend these results to a dual-permeability model which accounts for the secondary ux arising from direct cell-to-cell diiusion within the solid matrix. Homogenization techniques are used to construct a new macroscopic model for the ow of a single phase compressible uid through a partially ssured medium from an exact but highly singular microscopic model, and it is shown that this macroscopic model is mathematically well posed. Preliminary numerical experiments illustrate diierences in the behaviour of solutions to the partially ssured from that of the totally ssured case.

The distributed-microstructure model for the flow of single phase fluid in a partially fissured composite medium due to Douglas-PeszyńskaShowalter [12] is extended to a quasi-linear version. This model contains the geometry of the local cells distributed throughout the medium, the flux exchange across their intricate interface with the imbedded fissure system, and the secondary flux resulting f...

The present work involves numerical simulation of a steady, incompressible forcedconvection fluid flow through a matrix of porous media between two parallel plates at constanttemperature. A Darcy model for the momentum equation was employed. The mathematical model forenergy transport was based on single phase equation model which assumes local thermal equilibriumbetween fluid and solid phases. ...

Laminar flow through through fissured or otherwise highly inhomogeneous media leads to very singular initial-boundary-value problems for equations with rapidly oscillating coefficients. The limiting case (by homogenization) is a continuous distribution of model cells which represent a valid approximation of the finite (singular) case, and we survey some recent results on the theory of such syst...

In present work forced convection flow in a channel partly filled with a porous media under asymmetric heat flux boundary condition has been investigated. The porous material is distributed on the one wall. Darcy–Brinkman and LTNE model have been assumed in order to solve momentum and energy equations, respectively. Fully developed conditions are considered in order to solve velocity and the te...
